Camping on Bornholm is a great base for an active holiday: cycling routes, hiking trails, beaches and harbour towns are close by, and drive times are short. It’s also a solid option for families — many places offer facilities that make travelling with kids easier.

Bornholm is perfect for active exploring. The island has a dense network of cycle routes and plenty of short rides that work well as day trips. A popular route is the coastal stretch from Sandvig to Gudhjem (about 18.5 km), passing Allinge and the area around Bornholms Kunstmuseum.
Add local smokehouses to your plan, and if you have a full day, take a ferry from Gudhjem for a trip to Christiansø.
