Terms for Refunds and Cancellations on visitbornholm.com

These Terms describe the rules for cancellations and refunds for: (1) rentals of sports equipment and bookings of activities available via visitbornholm.com, and (2) purchases made from third-party sellers on the marketplace. The platform is operated by Visit Bornholm ApS, CVR 46221699, Brogårdsvej 41, 3700 Rønne, Denmark (hereinafter the “Company”).

  1. Scope and Roles

    a. For rentals and activity bookings, the Company facilitates the booking and payment process and cooperates with third-party providers.
    b. For marketplace purchases, the contract is concluded between the buyer and the individual seller, and the seller’s own return/cancellation terms apply unless otherwise stated.

  2. Cancellations for Rentals and Activities

    a. A customer may cancel a rental or activity booking by notifying the Company via the contact form or by email at contact@visitbornholm.com.
    b. The cancellation is effective when confirmed by the Company (or the provider where applicable).
    c. The specific provider may require additional information (e.g. booking number, date, name).

  3. Cancellation Deadlines

    a. Cancellation made more than 48 hours before the scheduled start time: free of charge and eligible for a full refund.
    b. Cancellation made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time: a cancellation fee may apply or the booking may be non-refundable, depending on the provider’s terms and/or costs already incurred.

  4. Refund Process for Rentals and Activities

    a. If a refund is approved under these Terms, the Company will refund the paid amount using the original payment method where possible.
    b. Refunds are normally processed within 14 business days from confirmation of the cancellation/refund decision.
    c. Bank/payment provider processing times may vary.

  5. No-Show and Late Arrival

If the customer does not show up or arrives too late to reasonably participate in the activity or pick up the equipment, the booking may be treated as used and may be non-refundable.

  6. Equipment Condition and Damages

    a. For rentals, the customer is responsible for the equipment during the rental period as defined in the rental terms and/or provider rules.
    b. If equipment is returned damaged, lost, or significantly altered beyond normal wear, the customer may be charged repair or replacement costs by the provider.
    c. A full refund may be refused where damage or misuse is confirmed.

  7. Marketplace Purchases: Returns and Cancellations

    a. For purchases from third-party sellers, the applicable return, cancellation, and refund terms are defined by each seller and must be presented to the buyer before purchase where required.
    b. The Company may assist with communication, but the seller is responsible for handling the return/refund, unless otherwise explicitly stated on the product/service page.

  8. Chargebacks and Disputes

If a customer initiates a payment dispute/chargeback, the Company may request documentation related to the booking or purchase to support the resolution process with the payment provider.

  9. Changes to These Terms

The Company reserves the right to update these Terms. The version published on visitbornholm.com is the binding version.
