10Bokul

Coming to Gudhjem along the coast from the northwest, you will see an island rising evenly from the sea - „round rock”, shaped by ice during the last ice age. In the middle of the hill is a lookout point Bokul with a mast, 48 m above sea level, where the painter Oluf Høst experimented with paint colours when painting his pictures. Today, from this spot many tourists capture in their photos the magnificent view of the town of Gudhjem and the yachts and boats entering the harbour, as well as the island of Christiansø. But the most repeated and characteristic photo is the winding road. From this vantage point, we will also take beautiful pictures of the starry sky.
