The north coast is more rocky and even cliffy, which makes for nice walks and hikes through the beautiful coastal scenery. The water off the coast of Bornholm is very clean and clear, which is an additional advantage for an active holiday by the water.
South of Nexo, in Balka, you will find "Eastwind watersport", where you can rent equipment for windsurfing, surfing and kite surfing and learn these sports under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
The Bornholm coast is ideal for windsurfing, and the beaches at Balka and Dueodde are very popular with both experienced windsurfers and novices.
Kitesurfing is a fantastic pastime where you can feel the power of nature while enjoying an exciting sport. The most favorable wind for this sport is on the beaches of Balka, Duodde or Boderne - because the right wind is essential if you want to enjoy several hours of fun on the water. There are many places on Bornholm where you can take a kitesurfing course, but most of them are on the beaches of Balka, Duodde and Boderne.
Stand-up paddle surfing is a water sport that feels fun the moment we stand on the board. Stand-up paddle surfing is a water sport where you quickly feel that you are making progress while solving many challenges and developing yourself. At the same time, it keeps you fit and allows you to enjoy the fresh air.
Wind conditions are most reliable here, however, this applies to the part of the beach west of Dueodde lighthouse. The best waves come from the west to southwest wind, beware of the strong currents that often occur here. Sometimes there is seaweed here, which is a nuisance for kite surfers - if a kite falls into the water, the lines are immediately encased, and under the weight of the seaweed it is usually impossible to continue swimming, sometimes so thick that it makes it difficult to walk by the shore - the beautiful blue sea turns into a smelly slush.
Despite this, Dueodde beach is not only the best beach on Bornholm, but in Denmark and on the Baltic coast. The pristine white, clean sand stretches for several kilometers, ranging in width from 50 to almost 150 meters. From the main car parks at Fyrvejen and Skrokkegards, two ramps over 500 meters long lead across the dunes to the beautiful Dueodde beach. Please note that the ramp ends more than 100 meters from the waterline. The car park at Fyrvejen has a kiosk, toilets, and a bus stop. There are camping sites, numerous chalets, and a primitive campsite in the area, which are clearly marked on our Bornholm map.

Depending on the wind direction one can move a bit on the corner of the island, but the wind will still mostly beside, side-on or onshore. When the wind comes more from East you should kite in Balka, and when more Northwest in Jomfrugaard, because it is quite gusty on Dueodde then.

Bornholm is located in the middle of the Baltic Sea and is sparsely populated, so there is little so-called 'light field'. Of course, the best time to go stargazing is in the autumn and winter, when the days are shorter and Bornholm has fewer tourists and less light, so the sky is even more visible.
This trip is the pleasure of foreign travel, combined with photography. The project is intended for tourists and photography enthusiasts of all levels of experience.
